Shanti Bhavan, Gondal is the first convent started on 21st July 1979 with four sisters,Sr.Anaclate, Sr.Lilly Jose, Sr. Rose Tom and Sr. Recy as pioneers in Rajkot diocese. The sisters got temporary residence in the initial stages. It was only in 1985 that our present convent building was ready for our use. But an English medium school was started in August 1979, according to the desire of the local people and with their help.

The sisters teach in the school, give free tuition to the needy children, visit the local people and make use of the available opportunities to convey the message of Christ to them especially during festivals. The school is under the management of the diocese, with a CMI father as Principal and our sister as vice Principal. Around 3500 students study in the school. Teachers from Gujarat state and other states including Kerala work in the school. The diocese has established a local parish here, though parishioners are few and our sisters are engaged in catechism, prayer meetings and other pastoral works. Some of the brothers for the diocese, and occasionally our candidates, attend the same school (secondary level).
